Please do not touch: that’s the sign that greets you at museums. But at a gallery in the Indian Music Experience, everything is meant to be touched, felt and experienced.
The interactive gallery, called Sound Garden, offers 10 different experiential music instruments composing different sounds by different methods.
All the carefully picked instruments were installed at the gallery in JP Nagar two months ago but was inaugurated on July 29. Close to a thousand people were present at the inauguration.
IME said all tours of the Sound Garden will be guided as it will help visitors understand the instruments and how they have to be used. “Not just even children, even
adults thoroughly enjoyed the experience on an opening day. We are really happy about that. This is perhaps the only place in India to have so many musical installations,” said Suma Sudhindra, outreach director at IME.
